The replacement of traditional 'Local Plans' with new Local Development Frameworks, (LDFs) means that there are opportunities for promoting land for allocation for housing and commercial use.

The new Regional Spatial Strategy for the South West is guiding larger scale development to the principal towns and cities in the region, so landowners with either brownfield or greenfield sites need to ensure that they receive good guidance as to whether their land has potential for allocation and, where appropriate, the right form of promotion is undertaken.
